One purpose of this competition is to "encourage all of us to act responsibly when making energy choices." Within this goal exists the ability to make this technology and innovation applicable to the common consumer. This contest focuses on Market Viability. The Schools are evaluated on the potential market appeal, facility of sale and production, and broad consumer interest. In addition, the jurors will assess energy production in relation to cost efficiency; teams must keep a "close eye on the check book."
